Welcome Back!

Welcome to Grade 4!  My name is Mrs. Kopec and I am looking forward to working with you and your child.  I hope that home and school will work as a team in the pursuit of learning, and will share in the reward of documented growth and success.  We have many enthusiastic students in our class this year.  They come to school excited and eager to learn after their holidays.  The first few weeks of school involve learning new routines, expectations, and "getting used to" the teacher and each other.  In Grade 4 the children will be expected to:

  • develop effective work habits - listening & following directions
  • strive to become independent workers
  • seek help when needed & work on their own when they are able
  • work cooperatively when appropriate
  • start work promptly and stay on task
  • complete all daily tasks & assignments
  • print neatly and correctly
  • do their very best work
  • show respect for others and their property
My goal is for each student to work to their maximum potential in a stimulating and enriching environment.  My expectation is that all students will be kind and respectful towards each other.  Your child is precious and deserves to be treated as such.  During the year we will be working hard on building our classroom community to ensure that everyone's learning takes place in an environment where they feel safe and have a sense of belonging.
Agendas will be extremely important and will be used on a daily basis.  I expect that the students will take their agendas home each night and return them each morning.  I would ask that you initial your child's agenda each night so that I know you are aware of important information, due dates and upcoming events.  Please use the agenda for any messages, questions or concerns.

I look forward to working with your and your child this year.  Please feel free to call me ANYTIME @ 306-791-8585, or email me @syndee.kopec@rbe.sk.ca when you have any questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Syndee Kopec
